Audience Analysis: Xfinity Series Off Slightly; EPL's ManU-Liverpool Big For NBCSN

NASCAR's secondary series, which moved from ESPN's networks to Fox Sports and NBC Sports in the offseason, is seeing a slight viewership drop compared to the first five races of the '14 season. The five Xfinity Series telecasts to date -- four on FS1 and one on Fox -- have averaged 2.06 million viewers, down 3% from 2.12 million viewers last year, when the first five telecasts included two races on ESPN, two on ESPN2 and one on ABC. 

PITCH PERFECT: NBCSN drew 950,000 viewers for Manchester United-Liverpool last Sunday, marking the most-watched early morning EPL match in U.S. history (airing before 10:00am ET). NBC Universo also drew another 146,000 viewers for the Spanish-language telecast, giving the game more than 1.2 million U.S. viewers. NBC and NBCSN to date have combined to average 485,000 viewers for EPL telecasts this season, up 10% from the '13-14 season....beIN Sports drew 2.1 million viewers across its Spanish and English telecasts last Sunday for Real Madrid-FC Barcelona, up 16% from the last "El Clasico" matchup in October. beIN Sports' English telecast drew 755,000 viewers, while the Spanish telecast drew 1.35 million viewers....Univision Deportes is averaging 308,000 viewers for Liga MX games this season, up 18% compared to games from the Mexican league last season.
