The latter half of March is upon us and for many sports fans it means that it’s that special time of year again. It’s bracket time. This week we will watch many hours of college basketball during the day while pretending to work at our day jobs.
In the past, these day-job-slackers may have had to settle for updates via their smartphones or social media accounts. But with live streaming becoming more common in the past few years, the NCAA College Basketball Tournament can be accessed wherever, whenever.
One way to watch all 67 March Madness games is to go to NCAA’s March Madness Live Website where games can be streamed live on a desktop. The one catch is that while games airing on CBS will be available to watch for free, games airing on TNT, TBS, and TruTV will require the user to enter credentials from a participating cable or satellite provider.
Those who want to watch on their mobile device can do the same through the NCAA March Madness app, which was recently updated for iOS and Android. The other thing to keep in mind with both of these strategies is that a user may get a free trial for games aired on TNT, TBS and TruTV, but there is no word on how long it will last so nobody should expect to watch games without a cable subscription for too long.
The cool thing is that if you have to use a cable subscription, and you have a computer at work, you can stream different games on your computer and your mobile device, something that could be very helpful in the earlier rounds where there may be up to four games on at once. And for those of you that have access to a TV during the day, you can still use this process along with your TV to stream three games if you use your mobile device and tablet.
March Madness is one of the most anticipated and watched sporting events of the year and while we would like to see TNT, TBS, and TruTV games available without a subscription as well, it is still easier than ever to stay up to date on the inevitable madness.
