Ephesus Lighting, a Syracuse-based company that manufactures high-output LED lighting solutions for applications in industrial and sports markets, recently announced the Ephesus Arena Pro-Court.

This latest Ephesus product offers multi-purpose basketball venues a single lighting system that can meet the many lighting requirements of professional and college basketball.

Joe Casper, Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Ephesus Lighting, discussed this new Pro-Court lighting system: “There is a major distinction in the quality of lighting requirements for pro and college basketball venues. We now have a product that focuses on improving the player performance, increasing fan experience, and exceeding HDTV broadcasting requirements for both professional and college basketball.”

The Ephesus Arena Pro-Court light sets itself apart by being the only LED sports lighting system with full light spectrum and color temperature tuning capability. This technology, which is patent-pending as of now, enables the system to adjust the color temperature of the light to meet a specific “warmer” range of lighting required by professional and college basketball broadcasts.

The Ephesus Arena Pro-Court light also enables the system to adjust a specific light spectrum for HDTV broadcasts; and allows venues to adjust the light quality, while maintaining constant light levels on the court.

In the past, venues had to install multiple lights to achieve similar results. Additionally, the Ephesus Arena Pro-Court provides more precise optical control, allowing for the dramatic cutoff between the court and the stands (go watch a Brooklyn Nets game).

In the Ephesus Arena Pro-Court is a patented, glare-free technology that is used to be fully HDTV compatible, with zero flickering, allowing up to 2,500 frames per second of super slow-motion recording, with increased bandwidth–all without interfering with arena communications.

As Mike Lorenz, President of Ephesus Lighting put it: “LED lighting is being used in more and more venues. We have seen them not only at basketball games, but at football stadiums, college arenas, and NHL arenas as well.”
