Sky Sports Picks Up MLS TV Rights For U.K., Airing At Least Two Games Per Week

MLS today announced that it has partnered with Sky Sports to televise league matches live in the U.K., marking the first time Sky Sports will own MLS broadcast rights. As part of the four-year multimedia deal beginning next month, Sky Sports will broadcast at least two MLS regular-season matches per week, as well as the AT&T MLS All-Star Game, all MLS Cup playoff games and MLS Cup on the Sky family of networks. Sky will also carry weekly MLS highlights across its various platforms, including Sky Sports News and SkySports.com. The net will also telecast at least one match on the final day of the regular season (MLS). Meanwhile, YES Network will "televise 20 NYCFC matches" during the club's inaugural '15 season. All NYCFC matches televised by the network "will also be streamed live" via the FoxSportsGo app (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 2/25).
