Overnight Ratings: CBS' Ohio State-Michigan Leads Weekend College Basketball

Outside of the Daytona 500 on Fox, golf took the top spot among sports telecasts on TV this weekend. CBS drew a 3.0 for the final round of the Northern Trust Open yesterday, which saw James Hahn get his first PGA Tour win in a playoff against Dustin Johnson and Paul Casey. That figure is up from a 1.9 overnight last year, when the tourney aired up against the Sochi Olympics. CBS drew a 2.6 overnight in ’13 for John Merrick’s playoff win over Charlie Beljan and a 4.1 overnight in ’12 for Bill Haas’ playoff win over Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson.

NOTES: CBS’ Ohio State-Michigan topped all college hoops games over the weekend with a 1.5 overnight yesterday afternoon. ESPN’s top game was Auburn-Kentucky on Saturday night with a 1.3 rating....NBCSN drew a 0.4 overnight for the Kings-Sharks outdoor game at Levi’s Stadium on Saturday night. ESPN2 in the same window drew the same rating for Gonzaga-St. Mary’s men’s hoops.
