NFL Panthers Agree To Keep Training Camp At Wofford College Through '19 Season

The NFL Panthers’ "longstanding relationship" with Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C., will "continue for at least five more years," according to Joseph Person of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. The Panthers "agreed to a five-year extension" to keep their camp at Wofford through '19 after holding their "first 20 training camps" there. Only the Packers, Vikings and Steelers have "had the same training camp homes longer than the Panthers, who began training at Wofford" before their inaugural '95 season. Panthers camp last year "drew 49,000 visitors to Spartanburg" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 2/10).

DECISION DAY: In Charlotte, Tom Sorensen writes the Panthers have a "terribly difficult decision to make" on DE Greg Hardy, who will become an unrestricted free agent in March. Sorensen: "Should the Panthers attempt to retain him, or should they let him walk?" Hardy's "profile is such that when some people look at the Panthers they’ll see him." Sorensen: "Will they see a team that they believe condones domestic violence? Or will they see a team that stuck with one of its most talented players?" If their "research and instincts convince them he’s not guilty, they should attempt to re-sign him -- if the money’s right" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 2/11).
