The "average asking price" on the secondary ticket market for Sunday's NBA All-Star Game at MSG was $1,748.83 as of early yesterday afternoon, up 77% over last year's game in New Orleans, according to TiqIQ data cited by Neil Best of NEWSDAY. The "lowest asking price" was $798, "by far the highest 'get-in' price in recent years." TiqIQ said that the "average asking price for All-Star Saturday Night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn was $2,125.16, more than double last year's price." The "low asking price" for Saturday night was $450 (NEWSDAY, 2/10). In Newark, Nick Powell noted for any "normal sporting event, there are bargains to be found when looking for a ticket through StubHub or Vivid Seats, but unfortunately the All-Star weekend does not qualify as normal." On StubHub, the "cheapest ticket" for Saturday night's 3-point and dunk contests is $449 "in the nosebleed section" of Barclays Center. Powell: "Unless you're swimming in cash, be prepared to cash in your savings" (NJ.com, 2/9).
