Minding My Business With Access Event Solutions' Danny Heinsohn

Name: Danny Heinsohn

Position: Access Event Solutions Business Development Specialist

Age: 38

Where I’m from: Reno

Where I call home: Reno

Focusing on right now: Integrating NFC/RFID technology into event badges.

Heinsohn likes to unwind with exercise, or maybe a nice glass of red wine
Best advice: This is really a people business. You’re out there selling yourself, and at the end of the day, everybody has a need for something that’s going to amplify their brand and their business. But this business is all about relationships and cultivating winning partnerships.

A must for a new hire: A team player who leads by example. Company culture is becoming vital for the success of most companies and it’s important to hire people who fit within that culture.

Exec I admire most: National Sports Forum Founder & President RON SEAVER. I don’t know anyone who’s inspired and mentored more prominent sports executives to success than Ron.

Best book I’ve read this year: The best book I’ve ever read was "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" by RICHARD BACH. I read it while undergoing chemotherapy shortly after college graduation in 1999. It’s a book about realizing your dreams, following them and reaching your full potential.

First thing in the morning: I’ll check LinkedIn. There’s all kinds of content coming out through the Pulse, but with your membership in LinkedIn, you also get connections that might be good for you.

Talking tech: In order for us to grow, we had to step into the technology space. I would definitely say that the whole innovation with the NFC technology and into Smartphones and RFID badges is where we’re headed. As far as business development growth, that’s where we see ourselves in the next five to 10 years. It’s a platform for sponsors to collect data or events to collect information on who is passing which entry points at what time, are they interacting with the experiential platform.

Must have music: I’m currently addicted to DAFT PUNK. But KARL DENSON, MILES DAVIS, MUSE, THE BLACK KEYS, LUDOVICO EINAUDI and DAVE MATTHEWS BAND are some of my go-tos.

Food for thought: Baked salmon with salad or a nicely cooked sirloin rank high on my list. Sushi is always a winner. But as someone who’s constantly training for marathons and triathlons, I’ll absorb most anything.

How I unwind: I’m always on the go. After a busy day at work, I’ll decompress with an hour of group cardio, massage, and/or a glass of wine during dinner.

Day in the life: We're working the second year in a row with the Daytona 500 with a technology activation on the infield. We've been in development for the past two or three years. Daytona 500 was my first account, and that happened last year in the tech space.
