Under Armour Extends Deal For Golfer Jordan Spieth For Another Decade

Under Armour has signed a 10-year sponsorship extension with golfer Jordan Spieth, one of the PGA Tour’s most promising young stars. Spieth first signed with UA in '13, becoming the first PGA Tour pro to sign a full head-to-toe UA apparel deal. The deal calls for Spieth to be part of the company’s int'l marketing, digital, print and social media campaigns. He will be part of the UA golf shoe launch this spring as the company looks to increase its brand presence in the sport. Spieth said, “When I came out and didn’t have any status, Under Armour took a chance and trusted me. Because they were my first partner and we stepped into no-man’s land together and have had success together, we thought it would be the right move to extend. They have been a great partner with me and they are growing globally, which is what I am trying to do as a brand as well.” Lagardere Unlimited agent Jay Danzi, who reps Spieth, negotiated the extension. UA Senior Category Dir for Global Golf & Tennis Ryan Kuehl in a statement said, "Jordan is an incredible talent and has already accomplished so much in his short career. This long-term commitment to each other emphasizes Under Armour’s continuing drive for dominance in the golf category and to provide all golfers with the most innovative performance gear from head-to-toe.”
