Lakers Deemed NBA's Most National Team By Twitter In New Interactive Fan Map

Twitter has developed an interactive fan map showing levels of support for each NBA club across the country, following a similar map created last year around NFL fandom. Despite carrying just a 12-27 record this season and having ABC dump a scheduled March 1 broadcast, the Lakers are the most national team. They claim by far more counties than any other individual club. Texas and California were predictably divided in their loyalties, with three teams located in each state. The Nets and Clippers, sharing their respective markets with the far more popular Knicks and Lakers, claim no counties where they are the most popular team. The NBA map also includes Canada, due to the presence of the Raptors in Toronto.
