NFL Sees Small Attendance Gain In '14, Despite Vikings Move To Smaller Venue

NFL regular-season attendance had a small uptick in ’14, as the Vikings’ temporary move to the smaller TCF Bank Stadium was offset by strong gains for the Raiders, Steelers and Dolphins. The Raiders' 14% jump this season was no doubt helped by a home game at Wembley Stadium. But even if that figure was replaced by the capacity at O.co Coliseum, the Raiders were still up around 6%. Despite a return to the playoffs, the Bengals saw a 4% decline in ’14. Although the Colts won the AFC South, they also saw attendance dip 1%. However, the decline came as the team still packed Lucas Oil Stadium to 104% capacity -- best in the AFC. The Jets led all AFC clubs with 78,160 fans per game at MetLife Stadium. Listed below is team-by-team attendance for the AFC, with comparisons to last season. See tomorrow’s issue for NFC team figures (THE DAILY).
