In Philadelphia, Joseph DiStefano reported local banker David Seltzer is the latest investor to "buy into the Union." Seltzer is the Principal & co-Founder of financial consulting firm Mercator Advisors, worked as a "past bond adviser" to the U.S. DOT, and chairs city-owned Philadelphia Gas Works. He is married to Lisa Roberts, daughter of Comcast Founder Ralph Roberts. Her brother is Comcast CEO Brian Roberts (PHILLY.com, 11/25).

SILVER LINING: In N.Y., Filip Bondy noted NBA Commissioner Adam Silver "cites the need for a harder salary cap and uses the Nets as an example of how a soft cap can hurt the league." In an interview with GQ magazine, Silver said, “I still think it’s unhealthy for the league when a team like Brooklyn goes out and pays an exorbitant luxury tax in order to give themselves a better chance to win." Bondy noted even after "dumping" F Paul Pierce, the Nets went into this season with a payroll close to $100M, the "highest in the league" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 11/25).

JET-SETTER: In N.Y., Manish Mehta writes Jets Owner Woody Johnson’s "most pivotal football decision now centers on what to do with a general manager who has helped turn the Jets into a league laughingstock with a string of follies." Jets GM John Idzik, "more than any coach or player, is responsible for the train wreck before Johnson’s eyes" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 11/26).
