For Whom The Bell Tolls: UNC To Pay For Damaged Duke Locker Room After Celebration

The North Carolina football team following Thursday night's win at Duke "left significant damage to Duke’s facilities that will likely exceed $25,000, causing the school to apologize and foot the bill for repairs," according to Steve Wiseman of the Durham HERALD-SUN. Light blue spray paint "caused 'significant' damage to the visiting team locker room in Duke's Brooks Practice Facility as well as the adjacent Field Turf practice field." Both "interior and exterior walls in the locker room as well as the carpet were painted," with the letters "UNC" on a wall next to a door entering the facility and elsewhere in the locker room. Per tradition, UNC's players "began spray painting the Victory Bell in their school’s color on the field as soon as the game ended" (Durham HERALD-SUN, 11/24).
