ESPN Maintains Top Spot In Oct. ComScore Rankings, Sees 32% Growth From Last Year

ESPN in October dipped slightly from its record-setting performance the month before in comScore’s Media Metrix Multi-Platform rankings. However, its total of 89 million unique visitors for its digital properties still represented the second-highest figure in the history of the sports category, and is 32% larger than its audience from October '13. The rest of the rankings largely held form from the prior month as the category overall retreated from a fantasy football-fueled audience surge in September. MSN Sports made its first entry in the list since breaking away earlier this year from Fox Sports Digital, ranking 11th. ESPN also led by far in digital consumption metrics with an average of 105.4 minutes per user during the month, almost identical to September.
