Clorox Signs Packers' Cobb To Endorsement After Ketchup Spill During Lambeau Leap

Packers WR Randall Cobb has a "new endorsement deal" with Clorox after he "got ketchup spilled on his jersey while jumping into the stands" at Lambeau Field to celebrate a touchdown during the team's win on Oct. 19 against the Panthers, according to Brendan Maloy of SI.com. Clorox execs, "sensing a can't miss marketing opportunity ... got in touch with Cobb, resulting in a new social media ad being posted by the wideout on his Instagram page." After he had ketchup spilled on him, team equipment staffers had to "scrub the stain off with toothbrushes on the sidelines" (SI.com, 10/27). ESPN's Marcellus Wiley said the endorsement deal is "cool, but it's lazy." He said, "These nerd executives that sit there have no creativity or imagination, they just wait for ideas to fall into their lap and then they just run with them. Who didn't see this coming right now?" ESPN's Max Kellerman, referencing the recent deal Cowboys RB Joseph Randle signed with MeUndies, said, "I like how you steal underwear, you get an underwear deal" ("SportsNation," ESPN2, 10/28).
