Turner Sports Promotes Hong, Vertino As Part Of Continued Change In Exec Ranks

As Turner Sports engages the NBA in a new TV deal and looks into bidding on the NFL's Thursday night package, the company continues to change its executive ranks. A month after Turner Sports promoted LENNY DANIELS to President, it promoted MATT HONG and ALBERT "SCOOTER" VERTINO to more senior positions. Both execs will report to Daniels. CHRISTINA MILLER, a longtime key exec with the company's relationship with the NBA, is moving out of Turner Sports to the company's entertainment division to become President & GM for Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang. She oversaw NBA Digital as GM & Senior VP of Turner Sports Strategy, Marketing & Programming. Turner Sports promoted Hong to Exec VP & GM, where he will oversee strategy, acquisitions and marketing. Hong will oversee Turner Sports' business and digital operations, including Bleacher Report, NCAA.com, March Madness Live and PGA.com. Vertino will oversee NBA Digital, as well as the programming and scheduling across Turner Sports. As part of the moves, Turner Sports Senior VP & Exec Creative Dir CRAIG BARRY adds oversight of operations and technology to his role overseeing remote and studio productions.
