The NFL last night announced PHARRELL WILLIAMS and SOUNDGARDEN will perform as part of the “2014 NFL Kickoff Presented By Xbox” prior to the season-opening Packers-Seahawks game on Sept. 4. Williams and Soundgarden will perform live outside of CenturyLink Field in a free event. Simulcast coverage of the 60-minute pregame show will air from 7:30-8:30pm ET on NBC and NFL Network. Meanwhile, ARIANA GRANDE will perform the National Anthem prior to the game (NFL).

WISHES DO COME TRUE: DALE EARNHARDT JR. prior to yesterday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series GoBowling.com 400 at Pocono Raceway met with fan CHRIS BLAKENEY as part of a "visit set up by the Make-A-Wish Foundation." Earnhardt told Blakeney if he "won the race, Blakeney could join the No. 88 team in Victory Lane." Mulkey played and coached under Barmore at Louisiana Tech, and he is currently a Baylor assistant coach (THE DAILY).

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth.
