Castle Pines Golf Club Founder JACK VICKERS yesterday was named the 11th recipient of the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award. The ceremony will take place Sept. 4 at Denver Country Club. PGA Tour Commissioner TIM FINCHEM in a statement said, "Jack Vickers was a gracious host of The International for 21 years and remains a great ambassador for golf with a strong commitment to charity." The inaugural International was played in '86 (PGA Tour).

NAMES: Jaguars G ZANE BEADLES "gave $750,000 to his alma mater’s football program, the largest donation ever made by a former player" to the Univ. of Utah. The gift "includes a designation of $500,000 to the Zane Beadles Sports Medicine Center and $250,000 to the Zane Beadles Offensive Line Scholarship" (DESERET NEWS, 7/29)....SCP Auctions yesterday announced that it has "obtained the Texas A&M jersey" that Browns QB JOHNNY MANZIEL "wore for all six of his home games at Kyle Field" during his '12 Heisman season.
