Overnight Ratings: NASCAR's Brickyard 400 Down On ESPN; UFC On Fox Flat

ESPN earned a 3.2 overnight rating for the Crown Royal 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway yesterday afternoon, which annually marks ESPN’s first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race of the season. That figure is down from a 3.4 overnight last year, but up from a 3.0 in ’12, when the race went head-to-head with the London Games. The race in ’11 earned a 3.6.

TWELFTH NIGHT: Fox earned a 1.6 overnight for its 12th primetime UFC telecast on Saturday, which featured Robbie Lawler’s win over Matt Brown in the main event. That figure is flat compared to the eighth “UFC on Fox” telecast last July, which featured Demetrious Johnson’s win over John Moraga. The figure also is flat compared to Fox’ last UFC telecast in mid-April, which featured Travis Browne’s win over Fabricio Werdum.

The chart below lists overnight ratings from weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV.
