A-B InBev Promotes Lucas Herscovici To Oversee U.S. Sports, As Blaise D'Sylva Departs

Anheuser-Busch InBev promoted VP/Digital Marketing for North America LUCAS HERSCOVICI to the newly created position of VP/Consumer Connections, where he will “oversee the brewer’s U.S. sports, entertainment, media and digital marketing,” according to Lisa Brown of the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. Herscovici takes over the responsibilities previously held by VP/Media, Sports & Entertainment Marketing BLAISE D’SYLVA, who has left the company. A-B Senior Dir of U.S. Marketing Communications LISA WESER in an e-mail wrote D’Sylva’s “departure from A-B was more recent.” The company “declined to comment further on the executive changes” (STLTODAY.com, 7/18). AD AGE's E.J. Schultz wrote D’Sylva, who was in his position since ’12, “played a key role overseeing the company’s in-house media-buying arm, called Busch Media Group, as well as the brewer’s media planning agency, Starcom USA” (ADAGE.com, 7/17). D’Sylva, along with A-B U.S. CMO PAUL CHIBE, placed No. 32 on SportsBusiness Journal’s recent ranking of the most-influential execs in sports business (THE DAILY).
