Where The Buffalo Roam: Pegula Family Hires Greenberg To Oversee Potential Bills Bid

Sabres Owners Terry and Kim Pegula are being represented by Allen & Co. Managing Dir Steve Greenberg "as they investigate becoming NFL owners," according to Tim Graham of the BUFFALO NEWS. Greenberg's presence is the "biggest sign yet of the Pegulas' attraction to the Bills." The Pegulas have "not declared publicly whether they will bid on the Bills." But the hiring of Greenberg shows the Pegulas "are preparing as though they will make a bid -- even if they eventually decide not to." Greenberg's decision to "work with the Peguals also is significant," because he "almost certainly had other opportunities to work with prime candidates." Greenberg has "brokered sales or purchases" of the Braves, Red, Astros, Brewers, Mets, Padres, Cavaliers, Wizards and, most recently, the Bucks. Sources said that the sales books "might not be available until after" the July 4 weekend (BUFFALONEWS.com, 7/2).
