SI's Daniel Roberts reports Gary Player's golf merchandising business is "strong," as the Black Knight Int'l website "sells $200,000 worth of apparel and accessories every month." Marc Player, Gary's son and manager, said, "I think 20 years from now, 50 years from now, people will go into the Gary Player boutique, and they will buy the apparel, they will buy the book on diet and health, they will buy the golf instruction video. They will believe in the spirit that is all things Black Knight -- healthy, enthusiastic" (SI, 6/30 issue).

NORTHERN EXPOSURE: The CP's Ethan Lou noted Hockey Canada unveiled a new jersey "that will be worn by the men's, women's and sledge hockey teams as the organization marks its 100th anniversary." The jersey "was introduced at Toronto's MasterCard Centre as Hockey Canada kicked off a cross-country exhibition tour" (CP, 6/26).

MANNING UP: In New Jersey, Rebecca Greene reports Giants QB Eli Manning last week made an apperance at a Dunkin' Donuts in Ramsey, N.J. He was there to "announce the winner of the 'Find Eli' contest, a Dunkin’ Donuts promotion in which 31 contestants registered on line for a chance to appear in a commercial" with Manning (Bergen RECORD, 6/27).
