SuperFanU App Looking To Expand Fan Loyalty Programs To Include Consumer Analytics

SuperFanU Inc., a company "built around the idea of tapping into fan enthusiasm," has "developed, and customizes, a free app that schools and professional sports teams use to create fan loyalty programs," according to Ed Green of the LOUISVILLE BUSINESS FIRST. SuperFanU CEO Tendai Charasika said that it is "not quite accurate to call it simply an app maker," as much of the company’s value is in "designing fan programs and collecting data." He added that SuperFanU’s strategy is to "use the app not only to manage fan loyalty and rewards programs but also to collect information about users that can be shared with clients." Green notes its "more than 50 clients include marquee names" such as the Univ. of Michigan, the Univ. of Florida and Penn State Univ. The app lets teams "create and promote events and track which ones fans attend." It can be used to "offer rewards such as T-shirts, free tickets and fan experiences, or to promote competitions among fan groups." SuperFanU generates revenue "through fees charged to teams for creating and managing loyalty programs." The fees are based on "which modules a team uses, but also can be customized for individual needs." Charasika declined to disclose annual revenue but said that it is "less than" $1M. He added that he "expects to double revenue this year and pass" the $1M mark in '15 (LOUISVILLE BUSINESS FIRST, 5/23 issue).
