UFC's Fertitta: Company Experiencing Continued Growth Overseas, Among Women

UFC co-Founder Lorenzo Fertitta said UFC is "still growing on just about every metric that there is, but really, where we're seeing a continued explosion is on the international forefront, continuing to expand in Europe, Asia and really now where the hotbed of growth is: Latin America." Fertitta, appearing yesterday on CNBC's "Fast Money Halftime Report," said, "We always do well here in Las Vegas." He added, "We're able to charge the highest prices for tickets. We have the highest average ticket price in sports at about $254. Obviously, people love coming to Vegas. It's a premium venue, the MGM." Fertitta said MMA has "always pretty much been a sport that people had thought of as being a young man's sport," but with the growing popularity of UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, "we're seeing women migrate into the demographic base.” Fertitta said of whether UFC would go public with the company or sell, "This is a passion for us, obviously, but it's also an investment. We have … continued to get approached by various different people, but there's always a time and place for everything. Business continues to go well (and) we're having fun running the business" ("Fast Money Halftime Report," CNBC, 5/14).
