Blackhawks Expanding Team Store, Set To Double Building's Retail Space

The Blackhawks "are expanding their store in the art deco office tower at Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive," according to Micah Maidenberg of CRAIN'S CHICAGO BUSINESS. Wirtz Realty Senior VP Don Vitek said that the team is moving the store "from the southern end of the building ... closer to Wacker Drive, and adding a second story that will be connected to the street-level space by a staircase." Vitek added that the team "will more than double its retail space in the building." Blackhawks President & CEO John McDonough in a statement said, "We envision the Blackhawks Store will become a must-visit destination for locals, tourists and fans alike" (CHICAGOBUSINESS.com, 3/14).
