Louisville Arena Authority Looking To Increase Sponsorships Inside KFC Yum! Center

The Louisville Arena Authority has "approved hiring of a local design and marketing consultant, Solid Light Inc., to see if it can increase sponsorships at the KFC Yum! Center," according to Sheldon Shafer of the Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL. The consulting firm will be "paid an initial $25,000 to drum up business from companies that would pay to advertise inside the downtown arena." AEG Finance Dir for the KFC Yum! Center Justin Jokovich said that the arena made about $2.9M "from sponsorships" in FY '12. Arena officials have indicated that they would "like to at least nearby double that figure." AEG officials said that December was the "most profitable operating month for the arena" since it opened in late '10. The arena made a nearly $1.15M "profit that month, mainly because of good attendance" at concerts by Keith Urban, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 3/11).
