Medal Stand: Weir Stands Out In The Booth, But Does His Wardrobe Stand Out Too Much?

Each day during the Winter Games, THE DAILY offers our take on the business performances of some of the people, sponsors, broadcasters and other entities around Sochi.

GOLD: MERYL DAVIS & CHARLIE WHITE -- The ice dancing pair delivered the U.S. its first Gold Medal ever in the event on Monday, beating the defending Gold Medalists from Canada as well as a strong hometown team from Russia.

SILVER: TARA LIPINKSI & JOHHNY WEIR -- The pair assigned to cover figure skating on NBCSN during the day have been getting rave reviews and for the most part have been viewed as delivering a better performance than their primetime counterparts.

BRONZE: STEVEN HOLCOMB -- The bobsled pilot broke a 62-year drought in two-man bobsled for Team USA by winning Bronze yesterday with pusher Steve Langton.

TIN: JOHNNY WEIR'S JACKET -- For the most part, along with delivering a solid performance, the flamboyant Weir has been tame during his coverage of the Sochi Games. However, he has pulled out an outfit or two that would make Liberace proud, and Ralph Lauren blush. We realize that is part of the fun with Weir, and certainly what NBC expected when they hired him, but announcers should never outshine the athletes they are covering.
