NFL Jets Raise Season-Ticket Prices In Lower Levels, Reduce Some In Upper Levels

The NFL Jets have "decided to increase season ticket prices for the first time" since before the '11 season, but fans wanting to sit in the upper levels of MetLife Stadium "might pay less" than last season, according to Darryl Slater of the Newark STAR-LEDGER. All lower-level seats "will see some increase," but "more than half of the upper-level seats will see a decrease." Jets President Neil Glat said that the rest of the upper-level seats either "will not change, or have a 'modest' increase." There will be "no change in season ticket prices for the mezzanine level." Glat said that prices while about 40% of the stadium will increase, about 40% "will remain as they were," and about 20% will decrease. Slater notes the lower-level increases "will average" 3%, while the upper-level decreases will average 10%. The adjustments will "result in overall season ticket prices decreasing" 1-2%. Glat said that the organization "wanted to lower ticket prices in the upper deck, 'with the goal of getting more season ticket buyers up there' who 'know the rituals' and cheers, rather than single-game ticket buyers such as opposing teams’ fans" (NJ.com, 2/10).
