ESPN, NFL Network See Jumps In Super Bowl Programming, FS1 Sets Sunday Record

ESPN averaged 2.37 million viewers for its post-Super Bowl XLVIII broadcast of “NFL Primetime” on Sunday from 10:16-11:30pm ET. That figure is up from similar postgame coverage last year, which drew 2.23 million viewers from 11:03pm-12:00am following the Ravens-49ers matchup. ESPN also drew 2.1 million viewers for “Sunday NFL Countdown” from 10:00am-2:00pm, up from 1.8 million viewers last year. Meanwhile, NFL Network averaged 820,000 viewers for “NFL GameDay Final” following Seahawks' 43-8 win over the Broncos from 10:30pm-12:00am, up from 681,000 viewers for the telecast last year. The net also drew 657,000 viewers for “NFL GameDay Morning,” marking the show’s best audience on record. For Super Bowl week, NFL Net averaged 226,000 viewers in primetime and 175,000 viewers on a total-day basis, marking the net’s most-viewed Super Bowl week ever. FS1 also was a big winner during Super Bowl week. The net drew 282,000 viewers for “Fox Sports Live” following the game from 10:15pm-12:00am, setting a new Sunday night audience record for the net. FS1 during the week of the Super Bowl also had its best audience yet for a Golden Boy Promotions boxing event (365,000 viewers on Thursday), best audience for a Monster Energy AMA Supercross event (439,000 viewers on Saturday) and best audience for a college basketball game (539,000 viewers for Georgetown-Michigan State on Saturday). NBCSN did not carry post-Super Bowl coverage. The net in the postgame window drew just over 100,000 viewers for a combination of programming, including NHL studio coverage and a special on the U.S. ski team.
