KFC Yum! Center Expects Financials To Rebound, Surpass Budget For Fiscal Year

The KFC Yum! Center "has lost money on operations during the first five months of the fiscal year, but results are coming in stronger than expected," according to Sebastian Kitchen of the Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL. Revenue increases through July 1 are "expected to climb and return a profit" of $1.6M. AEG Finance Dir for the KFC Yum! Center Justin Jokovich said that the arena's operating loss "reached $100,572 from July 1 through November." But Kitchen writes the figure is "not nearly as bad as the arena’s budget, which called for a loss of about $355,800 through November." Jokovich said that November through March are the arena's "busiest and most profitable months of the year." AEG GM for the KFC Yum! Center Dennis Petrullo said that there "have not been as many large, sold out shows, but they will have to accept some bookings that will bring in 6,000 to 8,000 people because there are limited number of artists who can sell 18,000 tickets." Petrullo said that paid admission to last Saturday's Brad Paisley concert "totaled 6,000," and the arena has already sold "more than 19,000 tickets for the March 7 George Strait show" (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 1/14).
