Movin' On Up: MLB Promotes Dan Halem To Exec VP/Labor Relations

MLB today announced that Commissioner BUD SELIG has promoted DAN HALEM to Exec VP/Labor Relations. Halem, who has been with MLB since ’07, will continue to report to league COO ROB MANFRED. He previously served as Senior VP & General Counsel/Labor. Hired to replace current Pirates President FRANK COONELLY and a former Proskauer Rose LLC partner, Halem joins an Exec VP level at MLB that also includes TIM BROSNAN, JOE TORRE, JONATHAN MARINER, FRANK ROBINSON and JOHN MCHALE. Halem has been actively involved in numerous aspects of MLB's financial and labor operations, including administration of the revenue sharing system, debt-service rule, salary arbitration and relationships with the MLBPA and World Umpires Association. MLB branded the promotion as “another step in the recent reconfiguration of MLB's management structure.”
