Overnight Ratings: NASCAR Sprint Cup Finale Flat; CBS, ABC Lead College Football

ESPN earned a 2.7 overnight rating for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series finale from Homestead-Miami Speedway yesterday afternoon, which saw Jimmie Johnson capture his sixth title in eight years. That figure is flat compared to last year's finale, which saw Brad Keselowski win the championship, and down 27% from the '11 finale, when Tony Stewart won the race and the series title.

CAMPUS TOUR: ABC and CBS tied for the top college football game over the weekend. CBS drew a 3.5 overnight for Auburn's dramatic win over Georgia in the 3:30pm ET window. ABC drew the same rating for USC's upset win over Stanford in the primetime window. The top college game on cable TV on Saturday belonged to ESPN’s Alabama-Mississippi State in primetime, which earned a 2.5 overnight.
