Overnight Ratings: CBS' Auburn-Texas A&M Tops Week 8 College Football Games

CBS led all college football telecasts over the weekend with Auburn’s upset win over Texas A&M in the 3:30pm ET window. That game earned a 4.5 overnight, up 36% from a 3.3 for the comparable South Carolina-Florida in Week 8 last season. In the 12:00pm window, CBS earned a 1.8 overnight for Vanderbilt’s upset win over Georgia. Meanwhile, ABC earned a 3.7 overnight for FSU’s rout of Clemson in primetime. That is up 54% from regional coverage in the same window last season, which featured Baylor-Texas and FSU-Miami. NBC earned a 2.5 overnight for USC-Notre Dame in primetime on Saturday, down slightly from the net’s 2.6 for the same matchup in ’11. However, the game delivered NBC its best Saturday primetime average in four months. ESPN’s top game of the weekend was Tennessee’s upset win over South Carolina in the 12:00pm window. The game earned a 2.4 overnight, down from a 2.8 for the comparable LSU-Texas A&M game last season. UCF’s upset win over Louisville earned a 1.7 overnight on ESPN on Friday night, while Alabama’s blowout win over Arkansas earned a 1.3 on Saturday night.
