Early Look At Orioles' '14 Schedule Reveals Event Conflicts With M&T Bank Stadium

The Orioles' recently released '14 schedule "presents several conflicts with events on tap at neighboring M&T Bank Stadium," according to Ryan Sharrow of the BALTIMORE BUSINESS JOURNAL. The Orioles have a scheduled home series against the Indians on Memorial Day weekend, when the NCAA Division I, II and III men’s lacrosse tournaments are set to take place at M&T Bank Stadium. The Indians-Orioles series is "scheduled for May 22-25, while lacrosse games will take place on the 24th and 26th." Additionally, the Orioles' scheduled home series against the Twins on Labor Day weekend comes when an Ohio State-Navy football game is set to take place at M&T Bank Stadium. Oriole Park at Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium "share the same parking lots and transportation modes would be congested if both stadiums host events at the same time." Orioles VP/Communications & Marketing Greg Bader said, “I am sure we will have discussions at the appropriate time as to how they will best be able to work around our schedule." Ravens VP/Stadium Operations Roy Sommerhof said that the team "will work with the Orioles and Maryland Stadium Authority on the challenges" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 9/23).
