What's On Your Mind? Fox To Incorporate Facebook Content Into Football Telecasts

Fox Sports has signed a deal with Facebook to incorporate content from the social media company into the network's football telecasts. The deal lasts through the current football season, starting with last weekend's college and NFL games. Financial details were not revealed. Facebook has similar deals with other channels like CNN, but this one marks Facebook's first foray into TV sports. Facebook VP/Media Partnerships & Online Operations Justin Osofsky said he wants to cut similar deals with other sports channels. The deal provides Fox with data Facebook will collect from users, including public comments, photos and videos, plus polls and "social buzz meters" that show which games are most popular on the social media site. "There's so much sports conversation that's already happening on Facebook," Osofsky said. "We know the conversations are going on. We want to improve the fan experience."
