ESPN The Mag, Tennis, Golf Digest Among Publications Seeing Q1 Print Ad Revenue Gains

After seeing print ad revenue drop last year, ESPN The Magazine, Tennis and Golf Digest saw big upticks during Q1 of '13, according to data from the Publishers Information Bureau. Golf Digest saw a 27% increase in Q1 after the magazine had a 6% drop during all of last year. The publication also had a 29% drop during Q1 last year. Tennis magazine saw a 24% increase after a 23% drop last year (11% drop in Q1 of '12). ESPN The Magazine's gains come after the publication had a 13% drop last year (15% drop in Q1 last year). SI continues to dwarf all other sports publications, with its print ad revenue 182% higher than than that of ESPN The Magazine. SI saw print revenue up around 1% in Q1 this year after figures were relatively flat in '12. Golf World continued to slide in Q1 after a 20% drop last year. Print ad revenue for Golf World was down around 5% during the first three months of '13.
