Ryan Tannehill Signs First South Florida Endorsement Deal With Broward Health

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill on Thursday was named "'the official face' of the Broward Health hospital system's orthopedic and sports medicine services,” according to Nicole Brochu of the South Florida SUN-SENTINEL. The three-year agreement, Tannehill's "first endorsement deal in South Florida," calls for him to "appear in marketing campaigns advertising the health-care system's orthopedic and sports programs.” He and his wife, Lauren, “volunteered as honorary chairs of the Broward Health Foundation's fundraising event in April.” Tannehill also “wants to make frequent patient visits part of his new role.” Broward Health Senior VP and Chief Communications & Marketing Officer Sara Howley said that tennis HOFer Chris Evert, whose name is on the hospital system's children's hospital, was “determined to find ‘the right fit’ for its orthopedic and sports medicine programs.” Tannehill studied biology at Texas A&M, and Howley said it was important "to find someone who wanted to be a part of what we're doing in orthopedics." Ryan and Lauren Tannehill on Wednesday spent the afternoon “watching knee and hip replacements at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale” (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 2/8). In West Palm Beach, Ben Volin notes Tannehill said that the partnership with Broward Health is “a natural fit.” He added that he and his wife “visited sick children in the hospital on Christmas day." Tannehill has "thought about a career as an orthopedic surgeon after his football career” (PALM BEACH POST, 2/8).

PLAYING CATCH-UP AT HOME: While this is the first local endorsement for Ryan Tannehill, in Miami, Adam Beasley notes Lauren Tannehill is a spokesperson for Duffy’s Sports Grill, which has more than 20 locations in South and Central Florida, and she "appeared in a local television ad" for the chain during Super Bowl XLVII (MIAMI HERALD, 2/8).
