Research and Ratings

The Bengals saw the NFL’s biggest increase at the gate this season, with home attendance at Paul Brown Stadium up 24%. This year’s gains make up for the 18% drop last season, when the Bengals finished last in the league in attendance. Meanwhile, most of the clubs in the AFC West struggled at the gate this season. After seeing a 28% jump last season, Raiders’ attendance at O.co Coliseum was down nearly 9% in ’12 as the team had the league’s lowest home attendance. The Chargers (-8%) and Chiefs (-5%) also saw a drop at home. Six AFC clubs saw home capacity at 100% or better, including the Colts with an AFC-best 103.5% capacity at Lucas Oil Stadium. Listed below is team-by-team attendance for AFC teams during the ’12 regular season, with comparisons to last year. See Thursday’s issue for NFC figures (THE DAILY).
