NBA CFO CAROL SAWDYE is leaving the league on Oct. 16 to rejoin PricewaterhouseCoopers as Vice Chair & CFO of the accounting firm. Sawdye joined the NBA in June ‘10 after working for the Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom law firm as COO. Prior to her job at Skappen Arps, she spent 17 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers. BOB CRIQUI, former NBA CFO and current President of Administration for the league, will take over Sawdye’s responsibilities on an interim basis (John Lombardo, SportsBusiness Journal).

TONY THE TIGER: The 76ers yesterday formally introduced GM TONY DILEO, who has “held about every position with the Sixers” during 23 years with the team. 76ers President ROD THORN “has only one year left on his contract and has a provision that will allow him to become a consultant after his deal expires.” DiLeo will “likely assume both roles” once the ’12-13 season ends. DiLeo: “I’ll be the one leading the organization after Rod goes to a consulting job” (AP, 9/24).

EXECS: The WTA named PGA Tour Creative Dir JOHN LEARING VP/Broadcast (THE DAILY)….The Collegiate Licensing Co. named IMG Academies VP/Business Development ODIS LLOYD to the same position and G-III Apparel Sports Division Senior Dir of Sales GARY DUBIEL VP/Retail Development (CLC)….The Clippers named ERIC MILLER Dir of Basketball Administration and promoted Scouting Coordinator JASON PIOMBETTI to Dir of Scouting (LATIMES.com, 9/24)....Event retailer and online merchandiser Maingate named MARK HIGDON Dir of Marketing (Maingate)….Hockey Calgary President TODD MILLAR “has apparently resigned after calling parents who favoured bodychecking in pee wee hockey ‘morons.’” He used the word “multiple times in a personal blog he wrote five months ago.” Millar is “believed to have sent a resignation letter” to Hockey Calgary’s BOD resigning from the volunteer post (GLOBE & MAIL, 9/24).
