Runner's World To Re-Release Three Vintage Olympic-Related Issues Digitally For iPad

Runner's World magazine is re-releasing three vintage Olympic-related issues digitally for the iPad through iTunes to tie into the upcoming London Games. The re-releases, priced at $1.99 each, will include the full content of each issue, including the original advertising. The effort from the Rodale-owned publication begins this week with the November '72 issue featuring Frank Shorter and his marathon win at the Munich Games, which is widely credited for sparking a running boom in the U.S. Next week brings the September '76 issue featuring Bruce Jenner and his decathlon Gold Medal in Montreal and Finnish star Lasse Viren. The Aug. 6 publication will have the September '84 issue featuring Mary Decker, who famously was tripped by Zola Budd during a 3,000-meter race in the L.A. Games.
