Milwaukee Planning Outdoor Summer Events Around Brewers' Broadcast, IndyCar Race

A downtown Milwaukee parking lot across from Frontier Airlines Center “will host a series of summer events, beginning with parties that revolve around an outdoor telecast” of a Brewers game and an Izod IndyCar Series race at Milwaukee Mile, according to Tom Daykin of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. The Pabst Theater and Art Milwaukee on May 25 “will host a party that revolves around that night's” FS Wisconsin broadcast of Brewers-D’Backs. Pabst Theater Foundation PR Manager Andy Nelson said that organizers “picked an away game in the western United States to get a later starting time,” which was needed to “ensure enough darkness to better see the game's outdoor projection.” Marcus Corp. and Andretti Sports Marketing on June 14 from 5:00-10:00pm CT will host an event tied to the June 16 IndyCar race on the Milwaukee Mile. Marcus Hotels & Resorts Greater Milwaukee Area Regional Dir of Convention Services Mark McDonald said that other plans include the IndyCar Experience, with “some of the ticket revenue going to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.” He added that the experience “involves riding in a street-legal two-seat IndyCar on downtown streets.” In addition, McDonald said that there also “might be pit crew demonstrations" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 4/20).
