Soccer United Marketing named MARIBETH TOWERS Senior VP/Consumer Products. She will report to SUM President KATHY CARTER and will relocate to N.Y. Towers previously worked for Warner Bros. Studio, Fox Kids and May Company (SUM). In this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, Terry Lefton notes SUM VP/Consumer Products STUART CRYSTAL "now reports to Towers," who had been serving as a league consultant. MLS "plans to hire a handful of additional senior staffers in retail development and retail marketing" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 2/20 issue). 

EXTENDED STAYS: The Predators have extended the contract of DAVID POILE, who has been "the only general manager in the history of the franchise" that was formed in '98. The team extended Poile's contract through the '14-15 season and also gave an extended contract to Assistant GM PAUL FENTON, who has also been with the team since its inception (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 2/21).
