MLB Combining MLB.TV Out Of Market Live Game Streams To MLB.com At Bat

MLBAM for the first time is bundling its MLB.TV out-of-market online live game package with MLB.com At Bat, its flagship mobile application, in a single purchase. The premium-level subscription of MLB.TV costs $124.99, $5 higher than last year's peak-level price. But the subscription this year will also provide free access to the MLB.com At Bat subscription, which last year cost $14.99. The move in part seeks to address complaints in years past from fans who did not like having to buy two separate products in order to watch live MLB games on mobile devices. Marketing for MLB.TV began over the weekend, while the MLB.com At Bat app is slated for release on Feb. 29. Similar to prior years, a single MLB.TV subscription will be usable on a wide variety of devices, including computers, Sony PlayStation 3, Roku and Boxee devices, and several brands of connected TVs. Xbox 360 has also been added as an available means to access the live games. Unlike several other major properties, there is no link between MLB's online out-of-market game package and its linear TV counterpart, Extra Innings. The '12 campaign marks the 10th anniversary season for MLB.TV. MiLB.TV, carrying live online feeds of every Class AAA game, returns for a second season. Full-season pricing for the minor-league package is $39.95 by itself, up from $29.99 last year. Subscribers of the MLB.TV package can add the minor league games for an additional $20, up from last year's $10 tack-on price.
