Comcast's Xfinity Running Contest To Hire Voice Of Sports Social Media Efforts

Comcast’s Xfinity Service is running a contest titled “Xfinity Presents: The Ultimate Sports Social Media Job,” to hire an individual to serve as the new voice of Xfinity for its social media efforts. From now until Monday, consumers can log on to Facebook.com/Xfinity and go to the contest tab to submit a 30-second to two-minute video explaining why they should be selected as the sports social media voice of Xfinity. The first-round winners will be selected based on their sports knowledge, social media expertise, personality and passion for Comcast. "We want to be impressed with their broad knowledge of sports, expertise in social media platforms and ability to entertain and excite people in a professional manner. We're passionate about creating an unprecedented opportunity for a talented individual and we want to see that passion in our finalists and the eventual winner,” said Comcast Dir of Digital & Sports Marketing Strategy Matt Lederer. From Feb. 9-19, the public can vote for the top videos on the Facebook page, and the five entrants with the most votes will move to the final round. Each of those contestants will be assigned to an event between March 8-11 to provide fans via Twitter with exclusive information, behind-the-scenes updates and photos. Although the rest of the events are yet to be determined, one finalist will be headed to a “30 Clubs in 30 Days” event in Arizona with MLB Network. The social media presence of the five finalists will be evaluated by a panel of celebrity judges, which has yet to be decided and will ultimately select the winner. The winner will travel throughout the year to the biggest rivalry games, championship games and top sporting events.
