Clippers See Rise In Ticket Demand, Prices Since Acquisition Of Chris Paul

Season tickets for Clippers home games "sold out and demand and prices for individual game tickets jumped on the resale market" after G Chris Paul joined the team earlier this month, according to Jim Peltz of the L.A. TIMES. Ticketing site RazorGator CEO Nima Moayedi said, "When the trade was first announced, sales went through the roof." The Clippers are “the sixth-best-selling NBA team on the website; previously, the Clippers had not been in the top 10.” And with “increased talk about the Clippers going deep into the NBA playoffs,” StubHub PR Manager Joellen Ferrer said that the resale of Clippers tickets on the company's site “has been running at a pace twice that of the Lakers.” Ticket prices for both teams' games “can climb into hundreds of dollars for seats close to the court.” But prices for the Clippers generally "are still lower than those for Lakers games at Staples Center." Peltz noted the Lakers “might not be getting the same buzz as the Clippers at the moment, but fans' desire to attend Lakers games hasn't dissipated” (L.A. TIMES, 12/25).

GOOD SEATS STILL AVAILABLE
: USA TODAY’s Rachel Shuster notes fans “aren’t rushing to welcome back all teams for the lockout-delayed start to the season.” The Cavaliers' home opener against the Raptors “was not sold out for the first time since 2004.” Meanwhile, tickets went for "as little as $7" on StubHub for yesterday's Bucks-Bobcats and Grizzlies-Spurs; $7 for today's Hawks-Nets; and $5.99 for Friday's 76ers-Jazz (USA TODAY, 12/27).
