Nonprofit Group WISE Names Sports Business Veteran Kathy Francis BOD Chair

WISE names Francis BOD Chair
Women in Sports & Events (WISE) has named KATHY FRANCIS BOD Chair, effective immediately. Founder SUE RODIN, who led WISE for more than 18 years, will assume the title Chair Emerita and remain active with the organization. Francis was most recently USTA Managing Dir of Marketing & Development, and previously held senior positions at MLB and Meadowlands Sports & Entertainment Complex (WISE). Francis will take on the "voluntary position at WISE in addition to her work as founder and president of New York-based Oasis Sports Ventures, a marketing company she launched" in '10, according to Molly Hogan in this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. Since its founding in '93, WISE "has grown to have 10 offices nationwide and more than 1,000 members." The Griffin Network "assisted WISE its executive search" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/14 issue).
