NHL Attendance Up Slightly Over Last Season; Lightning Seeing Big Bump At The Gate

NHL teams are averaging 17,072 fans per game through yesterday, up 0.6% compared to the same time period last year. Eastern Conference clubs are averaging 17,573 fans per game, up 2.2%. The Lightning have the league's largest increase, 21.7%, at the newly renovated St. Pete Times Forum. The Jets have reached 100% capacity in each of their first four home games in their first season back in Winnipeg. The Hurricanes have the conference's largest decrease in average attendance, down 12.7% so far this season. See tomorrow's issue for Western Conference figures (THE DAILY).
