Sports Business Executives Cross Finish Line Of ING N.Y. Marathon

We put out the call last week seeking those running Sunday in the ING N.Y. Marathon, and we appreciate the many readers who alerted us and sent in their times and thoughts from the experience. We would like to congratulate all those who competed and ran through N.Y.'s five boroughs. The following is a list of readers who shared their experience with us and images from the day.

NAME TITLE TIME COMMENTS
Kiwan Anderson Omega Watches Events Manager 3:58:01
Tim Bezbatchenko MLS Dir. of Player Relations & Competition 3:40:08
Jared Cooper Sports Power Weekends Founder & CEO 4:38 As grueling as the run itself is, the atmosphere is so festive that the marathon really serves as a celebration. It was the culmination of months of training, and I'm so happy to have taken part.
Sean Dennison MLS/SUM Dir of Corporate Communications 5:18:50
AJ Faxel ANC Sports Enterprises Project Manager 3:58 The marathon was truly an awesome experience as all the training from the past few months came to life. It took a tremendous amount of discipline and mental determination to finish the last eight miles. I joined the MS Society NYC chapter back in June to help battle MS, which my dad has battled for 25 years. I just kept thinking that if he is strong enough to make it to the gym every day, I would be able to finish a marathon. Nothing felt better than seeing my parents on 73rd & 1st cheering me on. I can't wait for 2012!
Brennan Feldhausen Orioles Account Manager/Corporate Sales 2:47:21 Not the time I was shooting for (sub 2:40), as I fell apart the last seven miles. However, it was an amazing experience with incredible crowd support! The weather was perfect and the atmosphere was unforgettable. NYRR did an incredible job organizing the race, and it was one of the most well orchestrated sporting events I've ever been a part of. A huge thank you to NYRR, the volunteers, sponsors, fans and all of those that took part!
Matthew Higgins Jets Exec VP/Business Operations 5:08 Started strong, blew up on the backstretch. Finished 5:08. Raised 35k for autism research, which is what matters most. And there's always next year!
Brad Jones Braves Director of Partnership Services 3:55 What a spectacular experience. Probably the closest I will ever feel to being a world class athlete. The fans along the course were awesome. Proud to say I am a finisher of the N.Y. Marathon.
Denise Kitchel IMRE Sports VP/Marketing & Client Relations 4:26:42 As this was my first marathon, there was so much to take in. First, the fans along the course of this marathon are second to none. As for a sponsor's efforts with fan and runner engagement, I give the award to Dunkin' Donuts. They produced great colorful hats for the runners on this chilly morning and, more importantly, they provided fans with customizable signage throughout the race course. I don't like donuts, but I will think twice about where I go to get my coffee in the future, thanks to their support.
Reba Koppelman Ravens Assistant Controller 3:49:50
Heather Krug Rogers & Cowan Exec VP/Consumer, Entertainment & Sports   ING N.Y. Marathon was my second marathon and it's a must do in any runner's life. I had a wonderful experience even though I ran it with some pain. I couldn't get in via lottery so I decided to raise money for UNICEF and achieved the goal by raising $3,700.
Eric Liebler ProCamps Worldwide Senior VP Unofficial 4:56 (from my watch) Set a goal a year ago to do N.Y. Marathon and achieved it. Your mind plays tricks on you running 26.2 miles. Crowds, weather, atmosphere, camaraderie was simply amazing. In pain now though. ... Event was so well run/organized. Volunteers were awesome. N.Y. at it best!
Brad Ludden First Descents Founder & CEO 4:46 It's so awesome to absorb the incredible energy at the N.Y. Marathon. There's nothing like it. My sister and I ran together, so not only did we share the marathon experience, we shared the opportunity to run for the young adults with cancer who inspire us every day through First Descents. It's extra satisfying to know Team FD's training and racing helped raise money and awareness for outdoor adventure therapy. Crossing the finish line is just such a rush
Chris Marciani MLB VP/National Sales 3:36 Yesterday was simply wonderful. The weather was perfect, the crowds were big, and NYRR ran another world class event. I finished the race in 3:36 minutes, which beat my goal and raised $3,300 for Team for Kids. Having a great race day made all the training worth it. I have to thank my coaches Stephanie and Nate Marciani.
Michael J. Patent AEG Global Partnerships VP 2:50
Mark Plutzer MLB Advanced Media VP/Ticketing 4:13 Was simply an amazing experience. 4th Ave. in Brooklyn, 1st Ave. in Manhattan, getting into Central Park were all highlights, but nothing beat crossing the finish line
Dave Reeder Kroenke Sports & Entertainment Account Executive, Partnership Marketing and Media Sales 5:12:09 The event was a logistical marvel. One of the most amazing things I have seen. 47,000 runners over to Staten Island and closing the streets on the course was amazing. UPS had strong activation with delivery of the checked race bags. Crowds and music were outstanding. Participating in this event was sensory overload at it's finest.
Luis Rodriguez SUM Account Exec/Business Development 4:56:23 It was such a privilege to be part of one of the most important sporting events that takes place in N.Y. The energy from the crowd is electric and definitely inspiring during the tough parts of the course. They are what makes the race great. Overall, the experience was amazing and the feeling you get when you cross that finish line is priceless. I can't wait for the next N.Y. Marathon that I get to be a part of.
Adam Schwartz Former NHL PR Manager (now a 6th grade teacher) 3:53:42 It was a great day. Perfect weather, spectators were great and the race was fun (what an amazing way to see N.Y.!). I had a great first half, but struggled a little from mile 18 on.  However, I was able to put together a solid finish from about mile 23 ½ to the end. It feels great to finish, but even better that I was able to set a PR and reach my goal!
Eric Smallwood Front Row Marketing Services Senior VP 4:25:45
Matt Wikstrom Wasserman Media Group VP/Global Sales & Business Development 02:52.5 An amazing experience -- an unbelievable way to see the different communities and culture that make up N.Y.
David Wright SUM VP/Global Sponsorship 3:36:31
