The NHLPA has appointed DON ZAVELO as its General Counsel. Zavelo joins the NHLPA from the National Labor Relations Board, where he worked for over 30 years, including most recently as the Deputy Regional Attorney. In his role with the NHLPA, Zavelo will handle player grievances, administer the labor agreement on behalf of the players and participate in the upcoming collective bargaining process. Zavelo will begin his new role with the union in mid-October and will be based out of Toronto (NHLPA)....FIFA named WALTER DE GREGORIO Dir of Communications & Public Affairs, effective Oct. 1. Acting Dir of Communications NICOLAS MAINGOT will serve as De Gregorio's deputy (FIFA)....Universal Sports named Fox Cable Networks VP/Business & Legal Affairs SCOTT BROWN Senior VP & General Counsel (Universal Sports)....Social media platform FanBridge named Team Epic Corporate Consultant JUSTIN KADIS Dir of Sports Industry Relations (THE DAILY).
