Packers Tweaking New Lambeau Field Sound System Following Fan Complaints

The new "$2.5 million sound system at Lambeau Field received mixed reviews" after last week's home opener against the Saints, and the Packers said that they "will tweak the system for upcoming home games," according to Alex Morrell of the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE. Approximately a dozen fans "contacted the Green Bay Press-Gazette to express disappointment in the new audio system." Most said that they "sat toward the south end zone and complained that the announcements and music were difficult to hear." Packers Assistant Dir of PR & Corporate Communications Aaron Popkey said that sound system engineers "have been making adjustments based on their observations and feedback from fans." The new system is "part of a $143 million stadium expansion that will bring a new scoreboard in 2012 and 6,600 new seats by the completion of the project" in '13. The new "audio setup employs 16 speaker enclosures around the roof of the stadium" (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 9/15).
